About us

Rev. Robert Alan Catolico Pada comes from a family who loves to serve the Lord.  Both his parents, the Rev. Vicente R. Pada and Mrs. Verna C. Pada served the Lord faithfully in varied capacities.

Pastor Robert is the youngest of six. All his brothers are Ministers. Two of his sisters are married to Ministers while his other sister, who is still single is also serving as a lady Minister in the Philippines.

Pastor Robert grew up in a Seminary setting where his father served as the school President for two decades.  As he was growing up, he saw all his brothers and sisters go through the Seminary training as they were preparing themselves for the Pastoral work. Being the youngest, he doesn’t want to follow their footsteps. He became ill and his stay in the hospital for 3 months made him realized that he was ignoring and evading his calling.

He went to Bible School and graduated after 5 years with a degree of Bachelor of Ministerial Studies. In April 26,1982, he got married to his classmate from Ebenezer Bible College and Seminary, Miss Zaida Gusto-Nacional who hails from Sarangani Province.

After their Seminary training, the Lord led them into various fields of ministry:

•Radio ministry in Zamboanga City

•Church planting in Sta. Maria, Bulacan

•Associate Pastor at the Capital City Alliance Church, Quezon City while Zaida served as the Secretary-Cashier in the same church

•Resident Ministers at Fairview Bible Church

•Student ministries at the University of the Philippines, Diliman campus

•Ministered at San Fernando, Pampanga for six months

•Took his Master of Divinity in Pastoral Studies at the Alliance Biblical Seminary, Quezon City and Zaida worked as the Academic Dean’s Secretary of the same school

• Served as the Senior Pastor of City Christian Fellowship Center in General Santos City

•Taught and serve in Ebenezer Bible College & Seminary as the Dean of Student Affairs, Department Head of Applied Theology, School Chaplain, while Zaida taught several courses in the Seminary and later she became the School Head for the Pre-School

•In 2001 he enrolled at the International School of Theology (ISOT), Quezon City as a participant in the Doctor of Ministry in Leadership program

•Served at Hope Christian High School, Manila as the Director of Student Affairs, while Zaida taught in Grace Christian High School, Quezon City

The experiences in the school being the Director of Student Affairs allowed him to see God moving in mysterious ways. As he interacted, counseled, prayed and even administered disciplinary actions among the students, his desire is to see them grow in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

One of his desires he had in his heart was to be able to reach out to students coming from broken families. The Lord laid this burden in his heart and he was able to help many.

Pastor Robert thought his ministry in school would last for a life-time, but his Dad passed away in 2006 so he had to come to California to attend his funeral.  Zaida stayed behind because she was not granted a Visa.  After his Dad’s internment, he was ready to go back to the Philippines, but his Mom requested him to stay on because she felt that she would follow his Dad because she was already bedridden at that time. He took this as a ministry to look after his Mom in the hospital.  After ten wonderful months of ministering to her in the hospital, she went home to be with the Lord.

San Gabriel Valley Christian Fellowship, in West Covina, California took the initiative to petition for him and he was granted the privilege to stay on and minister with them until he was able to have his Immigrant status.  He moved to Glendale, where he served as an Associate Pastor at Glendale Christian Church for six months.  He first met Pastor Dante in 2009 when he was ready to move on to Lubbock, Texas where he was given the challenge to do Church planting. Pastor Dante extended the invitation for him to join him in the ministry with Living Hope but since he already accepted the challenge to go to Texas, Pastor Dante simply said: “If it is God’s will that we work hand-in-hand here, God will bring you back”.

Pastor Robert started the Faith International Alliance Church in Lubbock, Texas and pastored the church for five wonderful years.  Zaida was finally able to join with him in 2012 after being away from each other for six years.

After five years in Lubbock, Texas, both felt called to go back to the Philippines in Davao City and pastor the largest Alliance Church in Davao city with a membership of around eighteen hundred, with five satellite churches and with a Pastoral Team of seventeen.  He served as the Executive Minister for a year and a half.  Then, God brought them back to Texas, where they waited for about a year where God would lead them next.

After a year of waiting on the Lord, the Lord opened the way for them to be able to touch base with the Leadership of Living Hope Christian Fellowship through the Pastoral Search Committee. They indicated their intention to come over and serve with Living Hope Christian Fellowship.  God answered prayers and led them to come over to join the Living Hope Christian Fellowship family. They are rejoicing and praising God for being a part of the ministry and family of Living Hope Christian Fellowship, Los Angeles.

Surely enough, Pastor Dante’s words: “If it is God’s will that we work hand-in-hand here, God will bring you back” became a reality after nine years.  Both Pastor Dante and Pastor Robert had the privilege to share the work and ministry together for about two months. Pastor Dante handed over his leadership role as Senior Pastor to Pastor Robert, then the Lord took him home to be with Him in glory.
